Entrepreneurship, innovation and corporate excellence featured prominently at the Africa Business Forum & Awards 2026, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on Saturday, 17 October 2026.
Business executives, entrepreneurs, investors, diplomats and industry representatives attended the gathering, which combined discussions on Africa’s business future with an awards gala recognising achievements across the continent.
The event was held under the theme “Shaping Africa’s Business Future: From a Single African Market to Global Competitiveness.” The theme placed the activities of individual businesses within a wider conversation about how African enterprises can strengthen their market presence, develop partnerships and compete beyond their immediate operating environments.
Powered by KN Unique Communications, a subsidiary of KN Communications Group, the Africa Business Forum & Awards was built around two complementary aims: recognising business achievement and creating a setting for professional engagement. The awards gave attention to organisational and institutional contributions, while the forum component provided space for dialogue on investment, leadership, innovation and the opportunities emerging from increasingly connected African markets.
The breadth of sectors represented at the awards – including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, shipping and tourism – reflected the many ways in which businesses contribute to economic activity. Companies and institutions across these areas provide services, support supply chains, build capabilities and respond to changing consumer and market needs.
CEO conversations were an important part of the programme, bringing business leaders together to exchange perspectives on entrepreneurship, leadership and the evolving demands of African markets. Such dialogue allows participants to discuss how organisations manage growth, respond to competition and identify opportunities for collaboration. It also creates space to consider the capabilities businesses need as they expand and operate in different commercial environments.
The Country Invest – Diplomat Series complemented the CEO conversations by focusing on investment, trade and business opportunities across African markets. Together, the sessions connected organisational experience with broader questions about market access, institutional cooperation and cross-border partnerships.
The event’s emphasis on innovation reflected the role of new ideas, improved processes and adaptable business models in supporting enterprise development. Businesses operate in markets shaped by changing customer expectations, technological developments and regional competition. Platforms for knowledge exchange can help leaders compare experiences, learn from other sectors and consider how innovation may strengthen performance and resilience.
The awards gala also positioned corporate recognition within the wider goal of improving business visibility. By celebrating achievements across industries, the event offered a platform for acknowledging the contribution of organisations to their sectors and communities without treating business success as limited to one type of enterprise. The programme reflected the interconnected roles of leadership, employees, investors, institutions and partners in building sustainable organisations.
Diplomatic representatives included H.E. Selestine Gervas Kakele, High Commissioner of Tanzania to Ghana; H.E. Amadou Ndéné Ndoye, Ambassador of Senegal to Ghana; H.E. Rui Orlando Xavier, Ambassador of Angola to Ghana; and H.E. Fidelia Graand-Galon, Ambassador of Suriname to Ghana.
The AfCFTA Secretariat was represented by H.E. Rui Pedro Afonso Livramento, Chief of Staff, accompanied by Ms. Abibata Shani Mohamed, Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General.
Their participation reinforced the regional context of the forum and the relevance of cooperation between the public and private sectors. As businesses seek new markets and partnerships, relationships with institutions and stakeholders across borders can form part of the wider environment that enables trade and investment.
The gathering concluded with a gala dinner, networking, live music and African cultural performances. The closing programme brought participants together beyond the formal business sessions and reflected the event’s combination of professional engagement and celebration.
By placing entrepreneurship, innovation and recognition within a pan-African setting, the Africa Business Forum & Awards 2026 underlined the importance of creating platforms where businesses can be seen, ideas can be exchanged and relationships can develop.
The event’s emphasis on corporate excellence and collaboration pointed to a shared ambition: supporting African enterprises as they work towards sustainable growth and stronger global competitiveness.
