All there is to know about Davido’s Upcoming ‘ A Better Time’ Album

Afrobeats powerhouse and CEO of Davdo Music Worldwide, David Adeleke aka Davido, is preparing aggressively to release his fourth  album christened: ‘A Better Time’.

This comes barely 10 months since the ‘IF’ crooner released ‘A Good Time’, which was a 17-track masterpiece.

Davido over the past few weeks has teased fans and music lovers alike as to what to expect on the upcoming project.

Prior to the release of ‘A Good Time’ in 2008, around the same time the father of three won the BET award and gave an acceptance speech live on stage, the artiste had hinted some international collaborations with one half of Migos, Quavo, Drake etc.

Fast forward to 2020, Davido made an announcement that excited music lovers on the continent.

He revealed that he was going to collaborate with Grammy award wining american rapper, Nicki Minaj, on his new album.

Feautres

Aside the Nicki Minaj appearance, Daddy Imade, as he is fondly called will have vocal powerhouse and one half of music duo R2Bees, Mugeez, on the album. This does not come as a surprise as the two camps have had an alliance and collaborated on two singles previously.

It will suffice you to also know that the other half of R2Bees, Omar Sterling, is the CEO of Wizkid’s Starboy Worldwide.

Also, on the album will be African Star Girl, Tiwa Savage.

Next on the list, which does not come as a surprise, is the prince of Afrobeats, Mayor of Lagos, Mayorkun. When Davido and Mayorkun hop on a beat, expect an instant hit record.

Here’s where it gets better, Davido in a tweet yesterday said himself and Mayorkun have two songs on the album. It’s safe to say we already have two sure international hit songs off the album.

Fans may also be expecting appearances from other DMW signed as well as affiliate artistes including Peruzzi, Dremo, Lil Frosh, etc.

Producers

Record producer and the brain behind most of Mr Adeleke’s recent hits including If, Fall, Assurance, Speroach Beats has been named as the Executive Producer of the entire album. The master sound engineer produced what may be the lead single of the album, the song featuring Nicki Minaj.

There may be other producers assisting in the production.

Number of songs

Mr OBO also revealed via a tweet that the “A Better Time’ will house 11 power songs. So, per my calculation, if Nicki Minaj, Tiwa Savage and Mugeez are on separate singles, then Mayorkun on two singles, we have seven more singles to anticipate.”

Recording Duration

The ABT album according to Davido was recorded in 14 days. Could this be  lockdown inspired album?

Davido released his first single ‘Back When’ featuring ace Nigerian rapper Naeto C Nine  years ago. The musician has promised a carnival on his 10th year anniversary in 2021.

‘A Better Time’ will be out in July.
