A former lawmaker in the 6th Parliament of the fourth republic, George Loh, has challenged former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Martin Amidu, to back his allegations of corruption against the parliament with evidence.
Mr. Amidu in his latest epistle derided the fifth and sixth parliament for being corrupt, kowtowing to the whims and caprices of the executive, led by former president John Mahama.
He said: “The partisanship, cronyism, patronage, ethnicity, and endemic corruption of the Looter Governments of the Fifth and Sixth Governments of the Fourth Republic had been allowed by the majority to infect the fabric and conduct of Legislative business in the House.”
He continued that: “Corruption became endemically pervasive in the Fifth and Sixth Parliaments because of the deliberate acts of infection by the Presidents and Governments whose members made up the majority in those Parliaments.”
“The whole body polity consequently became infected with the pandemic of corruption and corrupt practices from the Presidency of looting the national purse for private profit,” he added.
But speaking to Starr News on Tuesday, Mr. Loh urged the former Attorney General to desist from hiding under the guise of a ‘supposed citizen vigilante’ to gain unmerited publicity through malicious claims.
According to the immediate past lawmaker for the North Dayi constituency, the allegation by Mr. Amidu lack substance and must be disregarded with the contempt .
