A welding apprentice identified as Prince has been stabbed to death at Okornya, a community near Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo District of the Eastern Region.

He is believed to be around 26 years of age.

The Police have since conveyed and deposited the lifeless body of Prince at the Eastern Regional Hospital Morgue in Koforidua.

Residents with knowledge of the development told Starr News that the ghastly incident occurred Tuesday dawn, after the deceased in the company of two others, attempted absconding with a motorbike they had stolen.

His accomplices managed to abscond not without machete wounds, and according to police information, they are being hospitalized.

Prince, who couldn’t escape was stabbed in the chest. The knife used to allegedly stab him was still in his chest when the police came for the body.

The deceased, according to the residents,  was a notorious thief who had a case pending in court and was expected to appear before a Koforidua Circuit court today, Wednesday, September 19.

The Police have commenced investigations into the incident, impounding the motorbike to assist in the investigation.
