A leading member of the Convention People’s Party, Kwame Jantuah says the behaviour of Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annor-Dompreh during the Appointments Committee brawl has exonerated Acting Boss of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle.
It will be recalled that during recess of the Appointment Committee vetting last Tuesday, Mr. Annor-Dompreh got into a verbal argy-bagy with Ms. Hardcastle, during which she reportedly called the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri “silly”.
Members of both sides of the aisle have subsequently condemned the lawyer for her outbursts.
Mr. Annor-Dompreh, who promised to “deal with” Ms. Hardcastle, has urged Speaker Alban Bagbin to institute punitive measures against her.
Commenting on the development on Starr FM’s Weekly Review with Naa Dedei, Mr. Jantuah, who called Ms. Hardcastle a friend, said the MP’s conduct had justified her actions.
“Annor-Dompreh can’t say ‘scatter the table’. He can’t say that, in Parliament. How? he quizzed. “He’s let my good friend, Emeafa Hardcastle look good, look very good. It’s a shame. It’s a real real shame.”
He added that it was “unfortunate” that Members of Parliament did not learn from the chaos that took place in the chamber on January 7, 2021 during the Speaker election.
