Ghanaian goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, marked his return from injury with a clean sheet as St. Gallen cruised to a commanding 13-0 victory over Walenstadt in the first round of the Swiss Super Cup.
After spending weeks on the sidelines due to injury, Ati-Zigi resumed his role as St. Gallen’s No. 1 and delivered a commanding performance, keeping a clean sheet as the Swiss top-flight outfit overwhelmed their opponents in a one-sided affair.
The Black Stars shot-stopper showed no signs of rust, organizing his defense with confidence and pulling off a few timely saves in the rare moments Walenstadt threatened.

While the attacking display stole headlines with several players getting on the scoresheet, it was also a significant moment for Ati-Zigi, who used the match to regain full match fitness and reaffirm his status ahead of a long and demanding season.
The 28-year-old, who has been a regular call-up for Ghana since 2018, will be hoping to build on this performance and remain injury-free as the Black Stars gear up for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September.
