The family of the late Ghanaian actress, Beverly Afaglo, has confirmed to Starr FM that she died of cancer.
The confirmation follows widespread speculation about the cause of her death after a video resurfaced online in which she revealed that two of her relatives, her father and sister, had died from the disease.
Speaking to Starr FM, the actress’s brother said the family decided to publicly confirm the cause of death to put an end to the numerous speculations surrounding her passing.
“We wanted to confirm the cause of death because there have been too many speculations,” he said.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, Ghanaians woke up to the devastating news of the actress’s passing at the age of 42. Friends, colleagues, and well-wishers later gathered at her residence in Tema to commiserate with the bereaved family, with videos of the visits circulating on social media.
Beverly Afaglo was widely known for her contributions to Ghana’s film industry, where she built a reputation as a talented actress and media personality admired by many within and outside the entertainment fraternity.
A one-week observance has been scheduled for Saturday, 30th May 2026, at the Green Flavour Events Centre, Community 9, Tema, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The late actress is survived by her husband, popular musician Choir Master, and their two daughters. She would have celebrated her 43rd birthday in three days.
The family is expected to announce funeral arrangements in due course.
