In a stunning revelation that could reshape the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) political landscape, former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has disclosed that Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong is preparing to contest the party’s Presidential slot ahead of its next leadership race.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Appiah-Kubi revealed that strategic preparations are underway for Dr. Acheampong to lead the NPP into the upcoming presidential election.
He described Dr. Acheampong as the ideal candidate to unify and revitalize the party.
“The task on our hearts is to present a great candidate who can redeem our party, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong is preparing himself for that mission. He will speak for himself in due course, but I am only a messenger. From what I know, he is the one—and his work speaks volumes,” Appiah-Kubi stated.
Highlighting Dr. Acheampong’s strengths, Appiah-Kubi said he embodies both intellectual acumen and business expertise, qualities that, in his view, make him stand out from other contenders.
“If we are looking for a candidate with intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one. If we want a successful business mogul, he’s that too. So with him, we’re killing two birds with one stone… he is a symbol of victory,” he added
Appiah-Kubi stated the NPP’s potential to develop Ghana, stressing that internal unity is crucial for the party’s return to power.
