The Big Street Feast, a community feeding initiative spearheaded by Ghanaian culinary creator and cultural ambassador Chef Abbys, has reached more than 50,000 people across Accra and Kumasi.
The initiative, which has concluded its latest edition, dubbed Big Street Feast 2.0, sought to use food as a means of supporting communities and promoting collective responsibility.
Following the successful completion of the exercise, Chef Abbys has expressed appreciation to the partners, sponsors, media organisations, production teams, bloggers, volunteers and individuals whose contributions helped make the initiative possible.

She said the support received demonstrated what could be achieved when individuals and organisations united around a common purpose.
“To everyone who supported the Big Street Feast, thank you for helping us turn an idea into an impact that reached over fifty thousand people. This is a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose. The work may be done for this edition, but the spirit behind it continues,” she said.
Chef Abbys acknowledged the role of sponsors and partners in providing the resources and support needed to reach people across the two cities.

She also commended media partners, bloggers and members of the press for publicising the initiative and helping to extend its reach beyond the communities directly served.
The beneficiaries, she noted, remained central to the purpose of the Big Street Feast, which seeks to bring people together through food and encourage a shared responsibility to care for others.
The successful completion of the initiative highlights the role of collaboration in addressing community needs and the potential of food-centred programmes to mobilise support and promote generosity.

Although the latest edition has ended, Chef Abbys says the initiative’s underlying mission remains focused on using food to serve people, strengthen communities and make a meaningful difference.
