Former Commissioner General of the Customs Division of Ghana Revenue Authority, (GRA), Colonel Kwadwo Damoah, has expressed patience and readiness to face charges alongside Ken Ofori-Atta and others.
The case, involving alleged corruption and procurement breaches related to the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) scandal, was adjourned to a later date.
The Member of Parliament for Jaman South, Col. Damoah who appeared in Court on Monday November 24, where he was expected to be arraigned stated that he and his lawyers are awaiting the new court date, emphasizing their availability and cooperation with the judicial process.
“We have been summoned to come to Court and we have made ourselves available, so if they say the case has been adjourned to another day, we will just wait patiently until that day comes,” Col Damoah, who is the sixth accused person, spoke to EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent in Court.
“When we get to Court and we are told of the charges, we will say what we have to say,” the Member of Parliament for Jaman South said when asked about his initial reaction to the combined 78 counts on the Charge Sheet.

On Monday, November 24, Col. Damoah and his lawyers, led by Bob Sanyelah, appeared at the Law Court Complex in Accra ahead of their arraignment.
However, upon reaching the premises, they were informed that the case had been rescheduled.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) had formally charged former Minister for Finance Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta and seven others with 78 counts of corruption and corruption-related offences connected to the controversial revenue assurance contracts awarded to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
