The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, on Monday morning, came to the aid of victims involved in a near fatal road accident on the Koforidua-Adukrom highway.
The accident, which occurred at Okrakwadwo, involved a commercial vehicle with registration number GT 5160-17 travelling from Ashaiman to Koforidua.
Among the injured were pregnant woman and children.

Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, who was en rout to Krobo Girls Senior a high School for an official assignment, stopped upon reaching the accident scene with the help of her entourage and bystanders assist in rescue operation.

The victims were swiftly conveyed to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded at the scene.


On March 28 this year, the Regional Minister extended similar humanitarian gesture when she appeared at a fatal accident scene involving bus transporting 65 schoolchildren, teachers, and parents on an excursion to Akosombo . Two persons died during that accident.
