Ecobank Ghana Limited (EGH) is unrelenting on its Corporate Social Responsibility drive in contributing to the development of Ghana. The bank undertook its annual blood donation exercise dubbed “Blood is Life” aimed at supporting efforts to re-stock the national blood bank on Valentine’s Day, Wednesdays, 14th February 2018.

In demonstration of their love and commitment towards the development of Ghana, Staff members of the bank as well as employees of Ecobank subsidiary companies, eProcess, Ecobank Development Corporation and Pan African Savings and Loans, donated blood at 4 centres across the country namely Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Tamale.

Customers of the bank also joined the exercise at various centres, resulting in the donation of over 800 pints of blood. Ecobank Ghana undertook a similar exercise in 2017 and donated over 500 pints of blood to the national blood bank.

Speaking to donors at the Ecobank Ghana Head office in Accra, the Managing Director Mr. Dan Sackey, underscored the bank’s resolve to contribute to the enhancement of healthcare in Ghana. He said, “We are confident that this exercise will save lives, families and homes. We will continue to contribute our quota in meeting the health needs of Ghanaians.”

He encouraged employees and customers of Ecobank to become regular donors, by donating blood at least once every year and assured clients that Ecobank will continue to undertake activities that will be of benefit to them.

The Regional Head of Marketing and Communication for EGH and AWA, Mrs Patricia Sappor, mentioned that giving back to society is the ultimate in life. She also stated that Life is precious, and the Ecobank “Blood is Life” exercise will continue to help restock our blood banks to save lives.

The staff members of Ecobank Ghana, Ecobank Development Corporation (EDC), eProcess, Pan African Savings and Loans Company and customers of the bank who participated in the exercise were excited about the opportunity to donate blood at the Ecobank “Blood is Life” exercise, to help save lives on such a special day.
