Lawyer and Former Roads and Highways minister Inusah Fuseini has observed that everything is presently wrong at the Ghana School of Law.
The comment comes on the back of the mass failure of students who sat for the bar exams last year.
Only 91 students out of the 474 who sat the exams passed to be called to the bar. A total of 206 law students are to repeat the entire course whilst another 177 students have been referred in one or two papers.
The students have blamed the situation on the Independent Examination Board (IEB), which they claim is high handed and inconsiderate.
Meanwhile, some lawyers and members of Parliament have urged the students to challenge the constitutionality of the IEB in court since it is not backed by law.
Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Friday, the Tamale Central MP said development at the Ghana School Law is worrying.
“The Law School as we speak is a regulator and a player at the same time and that is a problem. In those days, to get into the Law school, you had to work hard and pass. There was no interview or entrance exams. The mass failure brings to the fore the need to probe and investigate what is happening at the law school.
“The law students hold that there is a disconnect between those who teach them and those who set their questions. The IEB is not backed by any law. Looking at the Li, there is no creature like that. Presently, everything is wrong at the Law school,” he argued.
