The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Bafuor Awuah, will tomorrow August 15 announce the roadmap on the payment of pensions into the Temporary Pension Fund Account (TPFA) when he takes his turn at the Meet the Press Series.
It will be recalled that one of the major campaign promises of Akufo Addo as a flagbearer in the 2016 elections was to ensure the transfer of the Tier 2 contributions being held in the TPFA into the various public and private sector pension schemes.
However, critics have been sceptical about the President’s ability to deliver on this promise two and a half years into office.
The Employment minister whose sector is spearheading this agenda will use the media encounter to provide further details on the status of the fund and other pension-related matters.
He will also give an update on the declining unemployment situation across all sectors of the economy.
The Meet the Press series will be carried live on GTV and all Ministry of Information’s (MOI’s) social media platforms.
