The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a critical gas infrastructure upgrade by ENI, increasing Ghana’s gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.
In a statement released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Ministry described the enhancement as a major milestone in the country’s efforts to build a reliable and sustainable energy future.
The increased capacity is expected to strengthen Ghana’s power generation capabilities and support broader economic and industrial growth.
“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” said Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry.
The Ministry extended its appreciation to ENI and all power sector stakeholders for their dedication in executing the project, and to the people of Ghana for their patience and cooperation during the implementation process.
“Your support is invaluable as we work together to build a brighter energy future,” the statement concluded, reaffirming government’s commitment to delivering consistent and dependable power to all Ghanaians.
