The two, Evelyn Dede Korkor and Felix Gyemah, were arrested in an attempt to transport 30 parcels of narcotics together with cassava from Huhunya to Nkorakan all in the Eastern region.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the two were arrested upon a tip off.
“We have arrested two teenagers, one Evelyn Dede Kokor a 19-year-old girl and Felix Gyimah, 18 years. They were arrested at Huhunya, upon a tip-off that the Police had, that the two suspects were heading towards Nkorakan while carrying two sacks of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
“They were actually compressed dry leaves numbering about 30, so as we speak, the two suspects are under investigation and we hope to quickly arraign them before court,” the spokesperson said.
