Four final year nursing students of the Tanoso Community Health Nursing Training College in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo have lost their lives in a fatal accident.
The four female students were returning from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Concert at the Sunyani Coronation Park when the unfortunate incident happened at Abesim on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway.
The bodies have been deposited at Brong Ahafo regional Hospital Morgue.
The authorities in the school have declined to comment on the incident and warned the students not talk to any outsider on the accident.
According to the Head of the Brong Ahafo regional MTTD, Superintendent Daniel Oppong Asirifi, the driver of the Nissan Primera car was heading towards Tanoso from Sunyani when the incident occurred.
Supt. Asirifi said the driver lost control of the steering wheel and as a result the car veered off the road and hit a tree.
“As a result of the impact the vehicle somersaulted and entered into a ditch with the four tyres facing upwards,” Supt. Asirifi told an Accra based radio station in an interview.
