The Ghana Education Service (GES) has condemned rape and stabbing incidents involving students during the Super Zonal Sports Competition in the Eastern Region.
A student from Koforidua Senior High Technical School was stabbed near the competition venue while out for lunch.
He has received medical care and been discharged, and one suspect is assisting police with investigations.
Separately, a female student from Osino Senior High School was allegedly gang-raped in a bush near the grounds.
Two suspects are in police custody, while a third, reportedly the ringleader and a former Koforidua student, is at large.
The victim has received medical attention and counselling support.
GES emphasized that such acts “have no place within the Ghana Education Service” and said all culprits will face due process.
The Service also warned that the schools involved will be sanctioned appropriately.
