The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that funds have been released to all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) across the country to cover fees for the 2026 WASSCE practical examinations.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the payment is aimed at ensuring that all practical examinations scheduled for the 2026 WASSCE are fully supported, including the provision of required materials and other essential resources.
GES explained that, “this funding seeks to facilitate a smooth and well coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work, while relieving parents and guardian of any such financial burden”.
The Service further urged regional and district authorities:
“to ensure the due application of the funds of their intended purpose to guarantee efficiency and accountability.”
GES expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their continued support in advancing quality education and reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for student success.
