The Ghana Hajj Taskforce has strongly refuted claims made by the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, alleging that some Ghanaian pilgrims went missing during the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
In a statement, the Taskforce dismissed the allegations as “misleading and unfounded,” insisting that all registered pilgrims were accounted for and that no individual had vanished under their watch.
“Every pilgrim who travelled under the official arrangements of the Ghana Hajj Taskforce for the 2025 pilgrimage has been fully accounted for, and no case of a missing pilgrim has been reported,” the statement said.
The rebuttal comes after Mahama Ayariga revealed that two of his constituents who took part in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca are still unaccounted for.

The Ghana Hajj Taskforce strongly advise all prospective pilgrims to follow the officially approved procedures for Hajj by acquiring a valid Hajj visa through accredited agents and the Taskforce. Any other route is illegal, unsafe, and outside the jurisdiction or protection of the Ghana Hajj authorities.
“We remain committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and proper facilitation of all Ghanaian pilgrims,” the statement concluded.
