The country manager of Emirates Cathy Wesley has described Ghanaians as “welcoming and friendly” which has helped her acclimatize over the past eight months.

Interacting with a section of the media about the operations of the award-winning global airline, Wesley said “it has been a wonderful experience coming to Ghana”.

Touching on the much-talked about Ghanaian hospitality, Wesley noted: “They’re extremely friendly and welcoming. I love the local fabric and I feel proud wearing it.”

According to her, she hopes to take advantage of the friendly nature of Ghanaians to boost the business operations of Emirates in the country. She promised to strengthen the relationship between Emirates and its trade partners.

“I’ll love to build on what we have been able to achieve since 2004,” Wesley assured.

Emirates started its service to Ghana in January 2004 with three flights a week. Currently, it operates daily flights from Ghana to Emirates global network via Dubai.

On October 2, 2018 it will fly into Ghana for the first time A380 aircraft in a one-off flight to the Kotoka International Airport to mark the opening of the new Terminal 3.
