Ghanaian airline, Goldstar Air, has confirmed it will begin full operation from the third quarter of 2017.
According to it, all necessary requirements from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority have been satisfied awaiting inspection of their Aircraft after which they will be provided with the Air Operator Certificate.
“After getting the Air Carriers License (ACL), we went through the first phase and through second phase; the next phase is that, they have to sit down with us and just clear the manual, after that we just go for the inspection,” the Chief Executive Officer of GoldStar Air, Eric Bannerman told Starr Business.
The company which announced operations in 2014 was met with initial registration challenges as it was to engage in charter flights.
Mr. Bannerman added: “Everything is available for GoldStar to fly. Now it depends on the inspectors, then it’s a done deal.”
Remaining competitive
Mr. Bannerman revealed that a number of measures have been adopted to ensure prudent use of resources, noting “we have learnt from what happened to Ghana Airways and Ghana International Airline and we hope not to repeat it.”
He indicated that as part of measures to cut cost, the company will build residential facilities at all its major destination to house pilots and cabin crew to prevent hotel charges.
GoldStar Airline has opened its new headquarters at Old Botwe a suburb of Madina in the Greater Accra region.
