Engineer Dr Peter Boasiako, campaign spokesperson for New Patriotic Party (NPP) national chairmanship hopeful John Boadu, says the former General Secretary’s support extends beyond the membership of the party.
Speaking on The Verdict with Isaac Addae, Dr Boasiako said some individuals outside the NPP also believe Mr Boadu has the experience and capacity to help move the party forward.
He said the support demonstrates the confidence some people have in Mr Boadu’s candidature and his ability to contribute to efforts to rebuild the NPP.
“The support is not only coming from the NPP. There are people outside the party who also believe that John Boadu has what it takes to move the party forward,” Dr Boasiako said.
He maintained that the support reflects the wider appeal of Mr Boadu’s candidature and the confidence some individuals have in his ability to provide leadership for the party.
Dr Boasiako said the campaign is also fully prepared for the upcoming national chairmanship contest and is focused on securing a strong mandate for Mr Boadu.
“We are highly prepared for this contest,” he said, adding that the campaign has put the necessary arrangements in place to pursue victory.
He said the campaign’s confidence is strengthened by the support Mr Boadu is receiving from both NPP members and individuals outside the party.
Dr Boasiako further argued that the support comes at a time when the NPP is seeking to reorganise its leadership and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general election.
He believes Mr Boadu’s experience and knowledge of the party will be important to that rebuilding process if he is elected national chairman.
“The NPP is preparing for its internal leadership contest, which will see the party elect new national executives as it works to reorganise its structures ahead of the 2028 general election”. He said.
