The national organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams has sued the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major General Obed Akwa, in connection with the seizure of his vehicles.
Mr Adams who filed the writ at the Human Rights Division of the Accra High Court seeking to recover items which he claims were stolen from his vehicles when a taskforce led by Captain Tandoh stormed his Tema residence in February this year.
According to Mr Adams, the taskforce members stole a pistol and some cash from the vehicles.
Some men who were said to be from the military, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and national security on Wednesday February 1, 2017 confiscated five vehicles, which were parked at his Tema Gulf City residence, Mr Adams added.
Mr Adams who was out of Ghana at the time said he received a telephone call from home about the incident.
He alleged that the men first went to the house on Saturday explaining they were from National Security and that they were there to carry away all the vehicles parked in the house since they suspect they belonged to the state.
The vehicles were subsequently handed over to the police who later returned them.
Joined to the suit is Captain Anane Tandoh of the Defense Mechanical Transport Unit at Burma Camp as well as the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic
Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, a.k.a. Abronye DC.
