John Odartey Lamptey, the man captured in a viral video violently assaulting a woman believed to be his wife at Ofankor in the Ga East Municipality, has been remanded into police custody along with two others, Louis Odartey Lamptey and Grace Kushie Lamptey.
John Odartey Lamptey faces charges of Physical Assault, while the two others have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, to wit “threat of harm,” after allegedly attempting to attack a female tenant they suspected of recording and circulating the video.
All three are set to reappear in court on December 3, 2025.
Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigations Department, urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of the victim to come forward, assuring that “all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.”
Police continue to search for the woman to ensure her safety and provide necessary support.
