Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu is taking his grievances against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to the highest level, preparing a petition to the President that contains over 15 allegations of misconduct.
Kpebu’s decision follows his arrest and detention on Wednesday, December 3, at the OSP headquarters, where he had gone to assist with investigations into corruption claims he himself had made against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.
He described the arrest as unwarranted and part of what he called a reckless agenda by the OSP.
According to Kpebu, the arrest was orchestrated by Seth Ablomensa, the OSP’s chief of staff, and carried out by a combination of soldiers and police officers.
He criticized the conduct of the security personnel, saying their behavior was unprofessional and threatening, including veiled warnings that there would be consequences if he acted in certain ways.
Despite the confrontation, Kpebu insisted he remained steadfast and undeterred. He stressed that he is law-abiding and determined to pursue accountability, planning to submit his petition for onward transmission to the Chief Justice.
Kpebu said the petition will formally document over 15 charges against the Special Prosecutor, signaling an escalation in his public challenge to the agency.
He told journalists, “I’m not running away from this fight,” emphasizing his resolve to hold the OSP accountable.
