Mayekoo doubles donations to African causes with new matching fund campaign

Mayekoo, the Pan-African social impact fundraising platform built to accelerate grassroots change, has launched a powerful new Matching Donation Campaign to double the impact of donations to non-profit and social good projects across the continent.

Running from June 23 to September 15, 2025, the campaign offers a dollar-for-dollar match on all donations, with a total of $10,000 USD (approximately 100,000 Ghanaian cedis) in matching funds available on a first come, first earn basis.

“Mayekoo means ‘Well done’ in our culture. This campaign is our way of recognizing Africa’s frontline changemakers and fueling their work at twice the pace,” said Rashidatu, a spokesperson for Mayekoo. “We want to empower as many organizations as possible–wherever they are on the continent.”

The campaign is open to all organizations across Africa currently fundraising on Mayekoo, as well as new NGOs and community organizations that launch campaigns during the campaign period. From sanitation to solar power, food security to education, organizations across Africa are using Mayekoo to turn local impact into global action.

In Ghana’s Central Region, for example, the Amazing Girls Foundation is using Mayekoo to raise funds to produce and distribute free sanitary pads for schoolgirls–a bold step in the fight against period poverty and the school absenteeism it causes. With Mayekoo matching every donation, their impact now doubles with every cedi or dollar given.

How it works: – Campaign Duration: June 23 – September 15, 2025 – Matching Offer: 1:1 match on all donations

– Matching Fund Pool: $10,000 USD / ~100,000 GHS total cap – Eligibility: Open to all African organizations currently on Mayekoo, plus any new NGOs that launch campaigns during the window – Action Steps: Start or promote your campaign on www.mayekoo.com and mobilize your community quickly

Act Fast: Matching Funds Are Limited The $10,000 USD match pool is distributed on a first come, first earn basis. The earlier an organization’s campaign gains traction, the more matching funds it can unlock.

Organizations are encouraged to share their campaigns using the hashtag #MayekooImpact to increase visibility and inspire more donors.

About Mayekoo Named after the Ghanaian phrase “Mi ma mo ayekoo”–meaning “Well done”–Mayekoo is a Pan-African social impact fundraising platform that connects trusted, registered non-profits with global donors to help reduce poverty and drive progress across Africa. With a focus on transparency, storytelling, and direct community support, Mayekoo enables organizations to raise funds for education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and more.
