The Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) has called off its four-day-old strike.

This comes after the hierarchy of the GAMLS signed a memorandum of understanding with the Health Ministry Friday, June 1 on three key things that forced it to instruct its members to lay down their working tools.

“…As a result of the signing of the MoU the strike action is suspended with immediate effect,” the GAMLS stated in a statement signed by its president Dr Ignatius A.N Awinibuno and General Secretary MLS Michael Amo Omari respectively and dated June 1, 2018.

The statement further noted that discussions on the roadmap to the implementation of the MOU and other related resolutions will start on Monday, June 4, 2018.

“Leadership assures all members of our total commitment to the full implementation of every item in the signed M.O.U. for the benefit of our members and cherished Clients. We seek your continuous support at each stage of implementing the agreed roadmap.

“We further pledge that the Association will stand by members who have been intimidated or victimized by management owing to their participation in this strike,” assured the statement.
