Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has publicly criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), describing his arrest and detention as a demonstration of the agency’s incompetence.
Speaking after his release, Kpebu said, “It just tells you the very incompetency. My arrest and detention underscores the incompetence with which, yes, Kisi Agyabeng sat down and allowed Ufureata to run. Kisi is not up to scratch. Kisi has never been up to scratch because you see, how would you arrest people when I’m doing this study.”
Kpebu, who had gone to the OSP to assist with investigations into corruption allegations he has made against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, emphasized that the arrest was unnecessary and poorly handled.
He expressed frustration over the behavior of OSP personnel, including threats and insults from security officers.
He added that he is preparing a petition to the President with over 15 charges against the Special Prosecutor, reaffirming his determination to pursue accountability despite what he sees as the OSP’s failings.
“As I’m talking now, I have over 15 charges against Kisi Ejabin. I’m not running away from this fight,” Kpebu said.
