Budding Nigerian music producer Black Culture has opened up on the reason why he puts on a face-covering whenever he is in public places.
The ‘Form For Me’ hitmaker intimated that even though the face covering was part of his brand, it was also a way to keep attention on his craft rather than his identity.
He made the revelation in a sit-down interview with Serwaa Amihere on GH Today Monday.
Known in real life as Olarewaju, the young star explained “First of all, I see my music as art and I’m trying to use my music to paint a picture in the minds of the people that are listening. I don’t want them to focus on my identity, I want them to focus on the music.”
“This mask represents the artistic part of myself which I want people to focus on.”
Quizzed as to whether he did not want to be known for the good work that he is doing, he responded by saying “I am not really particular about being known by my own personal face because I will like to sometimes go into a supermarket and freely get what I want to get without any troubles.”
“This is the brand I’m trying to sell to people. This is the art that comes with Black Culture,” he noted.
Black Culture has produced many hit songs including ‘Form For Me’, ‘Unbeatable’ and ‘Wake UP’ by AV, and ‘Pay’ by Tekno, just to mention a few.
Other songs he has worked on are ‘Sunshine’ by Dai Verse and DJ Clips, ‘Abena’ by JKells, ‘Attention’ by Fabid, ‘Dondi’ by Rommie, ‘Controversy’ by Blaccmarley, ‘Hello’ by Toliban and ‘Holy Mary’ by KOC and AV.
He has also worked on sound design projects for whiskey brand Martel, electronics company Oraimo, and award-winning movie ‘Shanty Town’.
