Napo is a problem solver and generational thinker – Bawumia

The Vice-President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised President Akufo-Addo for laying a robust economic foundation despite the global economic crisis which was fueled by COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.

He believes that this foundation will enable him to introduce new vision and directions to spur economic growth that will bring prosperity to all.

He said despite the economic challenges that the NPP government has faced, it has performed better than the administration that was superintendent by John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in all spheres of the economy be it roads, health, agriculture, energy, sports and many others.

Addressing a mammoth rally in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Dr. Bawumia officially unveiled his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to the teeming party faithful and highlighted his strong legislative background, problem-solving skills, and result-oriented approach as traits Napo would bring to the table to assist in realizing his vision for the country.

“After searching all over the country, I settled on the Ashanti Region to choose my running mate from. I also settled on Napo as my running mate. He has knowledge – the two of us have worked together for the last sixteen (16) years. I have high respect for him. He is a problem solver; he is a generational thinker, and so, I know that the two of us share the same vision”, he noted.

He added “I know that when he becomes my vice, we can work together and bring bold solutions for the people of Ghana. Therefore, I am very confident in Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh. Our ticket is a ticket of youth; and it is a ticket of experience”.

In a spirited display of his confidence, energy and toughness, Napo, as Dr. Prempeh is affectionately called, urged the UP tradition in the Ashanti Region and the rest of the country to dedicate themselves to the campaign, emphasizing unity as their greatest weapon to defeat their political opponents.

He said never should the rank and file of the party allow what occurred in 2008, where division in the party cost them to lose power to repeat itself, stressing that with oneness among them, “President Akufo-Addo will hand over power to Dr. Bawumia”, come January 7, 2025.

“When President Akufo-Addo retires, Dr. Bawumia will come. This has never happened in the history of the NPP. No President, since independence, has helped Ghana more than President Akufo-Addo, not even Kwame Nkrumah”, he noted.

He added “Whatever President Akufo-Addo came to do, Dr. Bawumia will come and take it to the next level”.

Concluding, Dr. Prempeh encouraged the youth to think about their future and vote massively for Dr. Bawumia to better their lives.
