Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, spokesperson on agriculture for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence that the party will deliver optimal results following their landslide victory in the 2024 elections.
Speaking to GHOne TV ahead of President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration, Dr. Otokunor emphasized the NDC’s track record of guiding Ghana through crises, citing their competence, know-how, and experience as key factors.
Dr. Otokunor acknowledged the high expectations from Ghanaians, who have given the NDC an overwhelming endorsement.
He stressed that the party must perform to the optimum, given the confidence placed in them to reset the country.
The NDC’s agricultural plans, as outlined in their manifesto, prioritize food availability, affordability, accessibility, and utilization, with a focus on agro-processing and economic transformation.
He said, “It’s super crucial we get it right because the people of this country will not patience with us because they have given us an overwhelming endorsement and it’s because of the confident they have in our ability and our competence and our knowledge sense to be able to reset the country and so they will be expecting a lot from us and that means that they will be measuring us with the highest measuring instrument and that means that we must perform to the optimum.”
“Thankfully, the NDC is the political party in this country that has the competence, the know-how, the experience to save the country. From the days of Rawlings, we have always come in in the crisis moment and once again, we are going to rise to the occasion and save this country from the crisis that we are in.”
