Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, an aide to former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko and a member of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, has urged members of NPP to put aside their differences following the party’s national congress and focus on working towards victory in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking to Isaac Addae on Morning Starr on Starr FM, she said delegates had made their decision and all party members must now respect the outcome and work together to advance the party’s interests.
“The delegates have made a decision,” she said, stressing that the focus must now shift from the congress contest to the broader objective of the party.
According to her, the most important task for the NPP is to forge ahead and ensure that the new leadership succeeds.
“The fundamental thing and the most important thing is victory 2028. And that’s why we all have to work towards now,” she stated.
She further called on members who contested various positions at the congress, including those who were unsuccessful, to make themselves available to support the new leadership.
Lawuratu Musah-Saaka said members must put their “best foot forward” and contribute to the success of the NPP, regardless of the outcome of the internal contest.
“The most important thing to any political party or any association is how you forge ahead,” she added.
She also called for support for the new leadership and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying the party must remain focused on its objective ahead of the 2028 elections.
Lawuratu Musah-Saaka maintained that the NPP’s conference remains its highest decision-making body and urged members who are passionate about the party to respect the decision taken by delegates and work collectively towards the future.
