Aduro Ye Herbal Centre;; producers of one of Ghana’s highly patronized medicinal herb based beverages Obuasi bitters has donated two hundred thousand cedis (GHc200,000) towards the Heal Komfo Anokye Project.

The project launched by the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; aims at renovating the tertiary referral facility which has not seen any major refurbishment since it was built some seven decades ago.

It targets to raise ten million dollars (US$10,000,000) to maintain and renovate the infrastructure, repair and replace fittings; refurbish its facilities; purchase state of the art medical equipment and enhance the physical aesthetics of the facility.

Addressing the media after the donation, Chief Executive Officer of Aduro Ye Herbal Centre Dr. Amoah Collins indicated that his outfit was touched by the plight of the hospital which serves specialists needs of twelve (12) out of Ghana’s sixteen (16) regions

“We have our establishment at Obuasi and indeed the Ashanti Region. We know that when we all face dire health conditions, our best resort is the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. If the hospital is in distress, we should all be concerned and that is why we felt need to make this very crucial donation to the hospital,” he noted.

Dr Amoah commended the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for initiating the project as part of his 25th anniversary of ascension to the throne.

“If the hospital is in dire straits and our hallowed King has begun this project, it is a laudable call on all of us in the region to heed.”

“Immediately it came up, we decided to set aside some revenue over time to donate. An Ashanti proverb says the housefly with all its penury never departs without leaving the little remnants in its palms,” he stated.

The donation puts the fund in a better stead to come to the aid of the hospital ranked the second biggest tertiary facility bearing the pressures of extensive use from the middle and northern belts of Ghana with some patients coming in from Ghana’s neighboring countries with need for specialist care.

Obuasi Bitters:
