American gospel artiste Phil Thompson has revealed that his highly anticipated collaboration with Ghanaian gospel star Joe Mettle is set for release within the next four to six weeks.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Starr 103.5 FM, Thompson confirmed reports about the joint project, describing the forthcoming song as simple, powerful, and easy for listeners to connect with.
According to him, the collaboration was inspired by an earlier conversation with Joe Mettle during a previous visit to Ghana, where the award-winning Ghanaian singer proposed that they work on a song together.
“The time before when I was in Ghana, Joe said to me, ‘Yo man, we should do a song together,’ and I was like, ‘Oh bet, you ain’t said nothing but a word,’” Thompson recounted.
He explained that during his subsequent visit, both artistes followed through on the idea and recorded the song.
Phil Thompson expressed confidence in the project’s impact, noting that it is “a very simple song” that listeners will easily grasp after hearing it once.
“It’s one of those songs where you hear it one time and you won’t even need to look back up at the screen to sing it,” he said.
The US-based gospel minister also disclosed that the song is expected to be released “somewhere four to six weeks from now.”
