Renovation works at the Accra Sports Stadium have finally began.
The arena after several complaints is receiving a revamp to keep it in stable condition for spectators.
The Accra Sports Stadium since its renovation in 2008 have been left in a deplorable state which saw many describing it as a risk zone following its poor nature.
Government have pumped in GH¢12.5 million for the first phase of rehabilitation.
The renovation works is expected to be completed in September this year for the Africa Women’s Championship which will see the edifice as one of the host venues.
Meanwhile Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak who uses the venue as their home ground in the domestic top-flight will need to relocate ahead of the new season.
