The Minority in Parliament is accusing the Police administration of harassment after armed personnel stormed the home of Asutifi North MP Collins Dauda Tuesday dawn to arrest him.
The Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak has told Starr News the armed police personnel were at Mr. Dauda’s home in the constituency claiming they had orders from above to arrest him, but the family of the MP told them he had already set off to parliament. The armed men have reportedly maintained presence at the residence of the MP.
The Brong Ahafo regional police command has since asked Mr Dauda to report at the office of the IGP in Accra when he arrives.
Mr. Mubarak says the Minority will officially communicate their concerns to the IGP but will not allow their colleague to go the police station.
It is unclear reasons for the police hunt for the MP.
