The Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into an accident that occurred on Saturday, 12th October 2024, at East Legon in Accra, leading to the death of two persons.
Three unidentified persons have been reported dead following a gruesome accident that occurred on Saturday evening at East Legon, Accra.
According to CCTV footage, the accident was caused by over speeding, which led to a fatal collision.
In a statement, the Police Service explained that preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect driver, identified as Salifu Amoako, rammed his vehicle into another vehicle on Dzanie Ashie Street at East Legon. “Both vehicles caught fire and burnt beyond recognition”, the statement added.
The statement continued: “The suspect driver and other surviving victims are currently receiving medical attention.”
Meanwhile, one of the surviving victims has since been treated and discharged, while the bodies of the deceased victims have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
