Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbina has blamed referee Danny Gagba for denying his side the three maximum points.
The two most decorated teams in Ghana settled for a 1-1 draw in Kumasi at the home grounds of Kotoko in a second leg fixture of the Ghana Premiere League Sunday.
Cobbina in a post-match interview thought the penalty awarded to the Porcupine Warriors was an act of ‘robbery’ deliberately carried out to deny the Phobians the maximum points.
“We were unlucky to have conceded such a penalty, but I will say we did well and there were no injuries recorded, we thank God for what happened.
“I could see the referee was with them [Kotoko], I will say it without thinking twice,” he said, adding, “because you see the penalty he awarded wasn’t a penalty.”
Cobbina stressed: “He made his mind to at least give them a point and I mean that is not good for Ghana football… if you are officiating you have to be fair to everyone. You shouldn’t be doing that.”
