EIB Network’s Ridwan Karim Dini‑Osman wins Best in News Reporting (Radio) at the 29th GJA Awards celebrating excellence in Ghanaian journalism.

Ridwan Karim Dini‑Osman of EIB Network has been adjudged Best in News Reporting (Radio) at the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, which was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.

The 29th GJA Media Awards, held under the theme, “Building Trust in the Media for National Development,” brought together President John Dramani Mahama, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, ministers of state, media professionals, and traditional leaders to celebrate excellence and integrity in Ghanaian journalism.

This year’s contest which drew 321 entries and underscored the competitive nature of the awards, saw Godwin Asedibe of TV3 honoured as the Overall Best Journalist (2024).

Other winners in the News Reporting category included Rosemond Akuorkor Adjetey of EIB Network who won Best in Business and Economics Reporting; Severious Kale-Dery of Daily Graphic, who won Best in News Reporting (Print) for Poverty in the Midst of Wealth; Nabil Ahmed Rufai, a freelancer, who won Best in News Reporting (Television) for Leveraging AI for Sustainable Development in Africa; and Albert Oppong Ansah of GNA, who took Best in News Reporting (Online) for Air Pollution.

The awards also recognised outstanding work across features, documentaries, disability reporting, domestic tourism, road safety, illegal mining, sports, education, health, gender, courts and crime, and business reporting. Notable winners included Doreen Ampofo of GBC, who won Best in Documentaries (Radio) and Best in Gender Reporting; Peter Agengre of GBC for Best in Education Reporting; and Nabil Ahmed Rufai for Best in Arts and Entertainment Reporting.

Television and radio programmes were celebrated as well, with Ekosiisen on Asempa TV winning Best Radio/TV Program in Ghanaian languages, and The Probe on Multimedia taking the English-language category. Citi FM and GTV were recognised as the Best English Radio and TV Stations respectively, while Peace FM and Adom TV topped the Akan/Twi categories.

The 29th GJA Awards highlighted the critical role of the media in Ghana’s development and governance, and showcased the talent and dedication of journalists across the country.
