Road 2 Jannah Foundation LBG has donated relief items to Rahma Orphanage Home at Alajo in the Ayawaso Central Municipality following the devastating floods caused by the heavy rains on June 29, 2026.

The floods displaced several residents and destroyed properties across affected communities, with the orphanage losing bedding, clothes, food items and learning materials after floodwaters submerged parts of the facility.

According to the Foundation, many of the children have since been sleeping on wet floors with limited access to basic necessities.

In response to the situation, the Foundation on Sunday, July 12, 2026, presented assorted relief items including bags of rice, clothes, toiletries, books, bags of sachet water, school supplies, beverages, detergents and sanitary pads to support the orphanage.

The items were received by Hajia Amarya on behalf of the proprietor of the orphanage, Sheikh Yussif.

Receiving the donation, Hajia Amarya expressed appreciation to the Foundation for the timely intervention and appealed to individuals, corporate organisations and benevolent groups to support the orphanage with mattresses and bedding.

She explained that most of the beds and mattresses at the facility were destroyed during the floods, leaving many of the children without proper sleeping arrangements.

Speaking during the presentation, Secretary of Road 2 Jannah Foundation, Elham Moro, said although the intervention was organised at short notice, the Foundation’s patrons and donors responded swiftly to support the affected children.

She noted that with additional support from corporate organisations and government, the Foundation would be able to expand its humanitarian interventions and reach more vulnerable communities.

Elham Moro also commended President John Dramani Mahama’s flood relief intervention for victims affected by the June 29 floods but called for greater government support for non-governmental organisations working directly with affected communities.

According to her, strengthening organisations such as Road 2 Jannah Foundation would enhance efforts to deliver life-changing interventions, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved communities across the country.
