Shareholders of SIC Insurance PLC have approved a total dividend of GH¢20 million, equivalent to GH¢0.1022 per share, for the 2025 financial year at the company’s 19th Annual General Meeting held in Accra.

The hybrid meeting, chaired by Board Chairman Honourable Mr. Bernard Ahiafor (MP), allowed shareholders to participate both in person and virtually via the SIC Insurance AGM Platform. The dividend approval follows a year of robust financial performance.

Insurance revenue rose to GH¢598.19 million from GH¢559.48 million in the previous year. Profit before tax increased approximately 41.5 percent to GH¢117.74 million, up from GH¢83.21 million in 2024.

After tax and the Growth and Sustainability Levy, profit after tax reached GH¢84.05 million, a rise of about 57.4 percent from GH¢53.41 million a year earlier.

Shareholders’ funds strengthened to GH¢786.28 million as at 31 December 2025, from GH¢670.38 million, representing growth of roughly 11.3 percent.

Basic earnings per share improved to GH¢0.4296 from GH¢0.2730, while return on shareholders’ funds rose to 10.69 percent from 7.97 percent.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Ahiafor reaffirmed the board and management’s commitment to restoring the company to industry leadership.

“Our ambition remains clear and undiminished, to re-establish SIC Insurance PLC as the undisputed leader in the Ghanaian insurance industry, not only by financial measures, but by the standard of the positive, lasting impact we make on the lives of our policyholders, the communities we serve and the nation we are proud to call home,” he said.

Momentum has carried into 2026, with the company recording insurance revenue of GH¢323.21 million and net profit of GH¢31.35 million in the first half of the year.

Under the approved arrangements, the ex-dividend date is Thursday, 10 September 2026, the qualifying (record) date is Monday, 14 September 2026, and payments to qualifying shareholders will be made on Monday, 12 October 2026.

Managing Director, Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng noted that “the best of SIC Insurance PLC is unquestionably yet to come,” expressing determination for the journey ahead.

The board and management thanked shareholders for their continued confidence and acknowledged the contributions of customers, intermediaries, regulators, staff and other stakeholders.

SIC Insurance PLC continues its transformation focused on operational efficiency, customer experience, product diversification, innovation and sustainable value creation, guided by its principle that “Our Promises Are Sacred.”
