Tarkwa-Nsuaem independent candidate condemns defacing of her billboards

Independent parliamentary candidate for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency in the Western region Joy Joycelyn Andoh has condemned the vandalizing of her billboards and posters mounted within Nsuaem by persons believed to be supporters of the ruling NPP.

She describes the act as a disturbing, criminal, cowardly, intimidatory, and a failed attempt to stoke violence and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere the constituency has enjoyed since the country returned to democratic rule in 1992.

The candidate has called on the Regional Divisional Police Command in the area to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.

A statement released by her campaign team on the issue and signed by Communications Director Kizito Cudjoe read “this is purported to have been done to appease the elements within the Party in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, and by extension the sitting Member of Parliament, as the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, tours the parts of the Western Region.”

“While we call on the Regional Divisional Police Command to act immediately to bring to book the perpetrators of this crime we would like to assure all well-meaning constituents and the growing supporters of Miss Joy Joycelyn Andoh to remain calm as we seek all the legal avenues necessary to redeem the cost of the damage caused.”

The statement added “Miss Joy Joycelyn Andoh, the only female aspiring Member of Parliament for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, as independent candidate, remain resolute and more than ever determined to rescue the good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency from the years of neglect and development stagnation brought by years of voting for one particularly political party.”

“Politics is a contest of ideas and not violence. I eschew any form of violence or intimation just to attain political advantage. Let us know from these acts the candidates who has the interest of the constituents at heart,” it ended.
