Telecommunication companies across the country are set to roll out increased data bundle packages effective today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, following a government directive aimed at providing more value to consumers.
The announcement was made by the Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, after extensive consultations with mobile network operators in response to growing public concerns over the high cost of internet services, particularly among the youth.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on June 10, Mr. George explained that although the new measures will come with slight price adjustments, they are designed to significantly boost the amount of data offered to subscribers.
The revised offers, which take effect today, include:
- AirtelTigo: A 10% increase across all data bundles. For instance, the GHS 400 bundle, which previously offered 195GB, will now provide 236GB.
- Telecel: A similar 10% increase in all data bundles. Their GHS 400 package has been increased from 90GB to 250GB.
- MTN: A 10% increase across all data bundles. Additionally, the GHS 399 bundle, which was previously reduced to a GHS 350 package offering 92.88GB, has been restored to its original price and will now offer 214GB of data.
Mr. George acknowledged that these changes may come at a cost to network operators but praised their cooperation and commitment to improving data accessibility for Ghanaians.
The revised data bundles are officially available from today across all networks nationwide.
