Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has assured bereaved families of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash of government’s continuous support, especially the children’s support fund.
On August 15, 2025, President John Mahama announced the establishment of the Children’s Support Fund to provide long-term assistance for the children of victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
According to the President, the initiative was meant to guarantee sustained support for the dependents of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
So far GH¢Two million, three hundred and fifteen thousand Ghana Cedis have been contributed to the fund.
Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, led a post-burial visit to the homes of the victims.

During the visit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, Shamina Muslim, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the bereaved families.
She further appealed to Ghanaians to contribute to the fund in order to complement the government’s efforts at easing the burden on the families.
The fund is expected to continue attracting contributions from individuals, institutions, and organisations dedicated to the welfare of the victims’ children and spouses.

The visit by the Vice President reflects the state’s resolve to ensure that the sacrifices of the victims are honored through sustained care and protection for their families.
