The Black Starlets has qualified to the next stage of the WAFU ZONE B U-17 CUP OF NATIONS after securing a 2-0 win over Benin in the last group game at the University of Ghana sports stadium.
In an incredible performance Ghana went in early as Mark Kagawa shrugged off a challenge from a defender to dink one over the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 for the Black Starlets
Theophilus Ayamga also finished off a 27-pass sequence for the Black Starlets as they take a 2-0 lead against Benin in the WAFU Zone B championship.
Despite efforts from Benin in the second 45 minutes, Ghana managed to hold on to the win.
This win means Ghana has qualified to the next stage of the tournament with six points, winning group B.
It is now two wins from two for the Black Starlets. They beat Ivory Coast 5-1 in their opening game and are one win away from booking a place in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2017.
This result also means Benin will not advance to the next stage of the competition with after gaining no point in the competition.
Ghana will now face off with the 2nd-placed side in Group B after their group games on Wednesday.
