The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has conferred diplomatic passports on five prominent creative personalities, including Ghana’s leading YouTuber Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as WodeMaya.
The initiative is part of efforts to promote Ghana’s image globally and strengthen ties with the diaspora.
The honourees comprise Grammy-nominated reggae musician Rocky Dawuni, broadcaster and media personality Anita Erskine, acclaimed visual artist Ibrahim Mahama, entrepreneur and founder of GUBA Enterprise Dentaa Amoateng MBE, and WodeMaya, renowned for his travel content.
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced the honours during the media launch of the Ghana Diaspora Summit.
He explained that the recipients are expected to champion Ghana’s image and lead campaigns to attract both Ghanaians abroad and international visitors to the country during the December summit.
This recognition, he said aligns with Ghana’s broader agenda to strengthen cultural, economic, and social connections with the global community.
