Passport applicants are expected to access their passport in five days or maximum 15 days.
Government has launched an online service as part of measures to address the bureaucratic nature and delays associated with the existing system.
Applicants can now follow a process of passport application online and access their travel documents within the stipulated time. Foreign Affairs Minister Hanna Tetteh told a news conference that five more passport application centers will be established to ensure effective operation of the online passport application system.
“Having the online application system makes the work of the passport office much simpler and enable applicants to fill in details that is required with ease to support their application,” she said.
The outgoing Minister urged applicants to apply for their passports and get it issued within the shortest possible time.
