Former Ghana International, Yaw Preko’s FC IfeanyiUbah crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 3-0 on penalties against Al-Masry SC of Egypt on Sunday at the Ismaily Stadium.
The scoreline remained 1-1 on aggregate after 180 minutes of football and a penalty shootout was needed to determine the winner of the contest.
Ahmed Shokri put the hosts ahead from the spot in the 24th minute.
Trailing by a lone goal from the first leg, Al-Masry handled by the former Egyptian forward, Hossam Hassan, piled on pressure on their guest’s right from the blast whistle and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa produced two fine saves to deny Ahmed Gomaa and Shokri in the sixth and ninth minutes

FC IfeanyiUbah Cameroonian midfielder, Tamen Medrano, received the first booking of the game following a poor tackle on Mohammed Onosh.
The first goal of the game arrived 20 minutes before half time with Shokri blasting his penalty past Ezenwa after Al-Masry were awarded a penalty following a handball in the box by Wilson Elu.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net in the second half and the game went into penalties after 90 minutes.
The Anambra Warriors failed to convert any of their three spot kicks, while Al- Masry scored all three.
Meanwhile fans of the club have said that the elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup meant that they should go back to the drawing board and prepare better for future encounters.
