Talented Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed that she never wanted to get married because she was an “uncontrollable child”.
Omotola who married at age 18, said her marriage to captain Matthew Ekeinde happened out of the blue.
“I wasn’t ever looking out to get married,” Omotola told Starr Chat host Bola Ray, adding “my mum used to tell me I would never get married because I was not controllable.”
The mother of four who has starred in several hit movies including ‘Mortal Inheritance’ and describes herself as a stubborn woman said she is now happy with her “angel and fantastic” husband.
“I met him [my husband] through church. I went to church hoping to disrupt the church…in my mini hot skirt…very hot…I just wanted to make my own statement like I don’t care what you think…because in my mind and in my heart I was very good person but a lot of people thought I was a very bad person because of the way I dressed.”
According to the ‘Blood Sisters’ actress, she got married to Captain Ekeinde after his sister connected them.
Omotola married pilot Captain Matthew Ekeinde in 1996.
The couple later held a white ceremony on board a Dash 7 aircraft while flying from Lagos to Benin in 2001, with close family and friends present.
Omotola gave birth to her first daughter on 30 March 1997. Together, they have four children, Princess, M.J, Merairah and Michael. Omotola lost her father in 1991.
